The Neolibertarian NetworkGay District in Spokane ?
I remember what a significant impact the gay community had in certain neighborhoods in Chicago in the 15 years in which I lived there. The changes are a chapter in the history of organic urban renewal. So much so that corporate micro-marketers, including large banks and brokerage houses, spent considerable dough to make sure the gay community knew that they were not only welcomed but a preferred group.
But is was an “organic” growth. So, a gay activist group thinks that little Spokane, Wa. needs a gay district.
Here is a prime example of pouring fuel on an emotional fire. Social conservatives now will be out and about in the cause of family values, and occordingly, the gay community will have much less chance in getting what they would otherwise may have accomplished if they had operated in a sub-rosa and organic manner.
Sometimes activists are their own worst enimies.

Dave, if i had control over the whole gay issue, and not just in Spokane but everywhere, i would giave they gays ne thing they wanted kinda just so they would shut up. I dont have anything against them but MAN do they cause a ruccus!
